You Can Cry With Me – Hometown Cha Cha Cha Episode 15 (Part One)

Beep, CC, and special guest Erin Brown dive deep in this first of a two part discussion about episode fifteen of Netflix kdrama worldwide hit Hometown Cha Cha Cha starring Shin Min-a and Kim Seon-ho.

Hometown Cha Cha Cha is a show about the puzzle of people with the mystery of Hong Du-sik, aka Chief Hong, at the center. As the story finally unveils what happened to Du-sik, the format of the episode asks the audience to engage in critical thinking and show empathy towards more than one point of view. Trauma is explored in groundbreaking ways to emphasize the importance of love, compassion, and community.

Please note that this is a rewatch podcast, so each episode contains spoilers for the entire series. Read more of Erin Brown’s writing at https://www.mythconception.net.

CC & Beep

CC is a Gen X recovering lawyer and full time wrangler of three children, a dog, and three cats based in Washington, DC. From science fiction to fantasy to historical drama, CC loves to escape to other worlds through story. In particular, CC is a fan of stories that hold up a mirror to human nature but inspire us to try to do better. She is a proud fangirl at heart and loves to talk and write about television like she was still an English major back in college. When she runs out of people in real life to talk to about stories, she ends up on Twitter or recording podcasts still talking about … you guessed it, television.

Beep is a Corporate America defector who writes stuff no one reads, plays around with coding, dabbles in making different kinds of art, and loves her pup, Auggie. It’s been said she watches way too much television. Is there even such a thing? Doubtful. Beep’s passionate about mental health and dogs! Send dog pics. For real. Anywhere, anytime. When it comes to things she hates, her motto is “just keep scrolling.” She resides in Tennessee.
